FAQs

  • We want to know that you are serious.  Whether it’s about your drive to make lasting improvements to your nutrition, or your curiosity to learn a dance, or even continue dance lessons from time away from technique...your willingness to pay provides us with some basic information that tells us that this matters to you.

You pay for coaching, right?  We happily discount your first session by the amount of the Intake Form - think of it like paying yourself forward.

Also, we are an independently owned and operated business!  Your support of our programs, and the time and care we take to process your information, means a lot to us.

  • Soft-soled shoes are best, either suede or leather soles are preferred for partner dancing. Dance shoes typically fit more snugly than your standard street shoe. Not only do you want to “feel the floor”, you especially don’t want your foot to be slipping around inside your shoe. Your dance shoes need to move with your feet, otherwise, you risk injury, and at the very least, your technique will suffer.

Initially this is not so important but I do ask that you bring a dedicated pair of cleaned shoes in a separate bag so that you aren't wearing your street shoes in the dance parlour or the ballroom/studio. This is standard practice and it prepares you for getting into dancing mode. It also shows respect for your dancing self, for your teacher, and your dance environment. To start, a comfortable pair of shoes for walking will work. In other words, not hiking boots. ;)

What NOT to wear: rubber-soled shoes. Rubber soles are great for when you need to grip the floor, which is not always ideal for partner dancing, where turning and pivots are used.

  • Improvise! Where there is a will, there is almost certainly a way!

You may use duct tape on the soles of your shoes in a pinch. It works surprisingly well! One of the finest dancers we know used this age-old trick for years due to the expensive nature of dance shoes. We totally get it! Eventually you will want to have a pair of shoes dedicated solely to your dancing.

  • Please consider good hygiene as we'll be working in very close proximity. Dress comfortably for moving. Mostly walking based movements happen in Argentine Tango and other partner style dances. Pants or mid length skirts/dresses work well - nothing too tight or restrictive. Long skirts/dresses don't work for learning. Casual to nice is fine. Most people dress in what we would call casual to casual nice.

  • All dancers agree to our Terms and Conditions here when they pre-register and pay for classes.

Classes can be rescheduled up to two hours prior to class start time, but refunds are not available. Again, we are a small business!

So we ask that you please commit to being in class before you pay for a bunch of classes in advance. Though we appreciate your enthusiasm, truly!

Hey, if you are ready to commit to several classes, go for it! We are beyond grateful and excited to dance with you!

  • Yes! We take your personal information seriously. The information you provide on your Intake Form, or given personally during any session is private and confidential. We care about your privacy. Your information will never be shared or sold.
